CEO led the USA Basketball Team to a 3rd Place finish at the 2005 SHAPE
International Men's International Basketball Tournament in Mons, Belgium
Finishing 3rd was a big disappointment to me, because undoubtedly we had the
best athletes; unfortunately, we failed collectively playing real team
basketball. It is very difficult to bring men together from various backgrounds
and get them to accept potential roles that they’re not use to for the benefit
of the team – and for some egos this could be a real task.
However, with the talent that comprised of the USA Basketball Team it was an
absolute coach’s dream to work with those men. Outside of basketball the
opportunity to get to know those guys was truly a unique experience and
opportunity. I have plenty of stories to tell, and yes they’re all hilarious.
